Special Guest in attendance via Zoom, Mike Hayman. Mike is a contractor with Trees Louisville (TL). TL are planting trees along the highways and city streets. Such planting have taken place along Bardstown Road, as well as Logan and Shelby Streets. TL is putting a big focus on soil work. They are helping the tree roots with tree wells sized at 5 x 8 ft. Happy roots equal a happy tree. TL also focuses on protecting the established tree canopies in Louisville and strives toward providing more canopy cover for the city.
The Board plans to have Mike speak at a future event that will be open to the community. We are looking at some time this October so it lines up with our Fall 2026 plantings.
Round Robin
Suni: Trees at West Lane Park are doing ok. There are 2 or 3 that look a little bit crispy.
